Gematria
Gematria is the numerology language of the Hebrew system. It is an inseparable numerological part of Kabbala.
The word gematria is derived from the Greek word geometry.
Gematria is divided into two forms: mystical and revealed. The former is yet not proven; the latter has been opened up to a large extent.
Gematria tries to bring out relationships and meaning. Every Hebrew letter is allotted a numerological value other than its normal phonetic value.
Talmud, the record of Jewish records, ethics, history and customs, includes examples of Gematria. The study of Gematria has led some people to believe that many ancient Hebrew texts were written with hidden intellectual insight.
There is a specific Kabalistic code for Gematria which helps us understand it better. The mystical Gematria tries to bring in a correspondence between the ten Jewish fire gods and all the twenty two letters. These numerological codes are even said to reveal predictions.
