The word religion means different things to different people. Broadly speaking it can be defined as a set of beliefs and guidelines practiced by members of a community. Religion typically includes a defined belief system, one or more deities, rules, traditions and rituals.

Religion is inherently associated with the paranormal, in that it requires a belief in things that are unexplained or unproven by science.
