Rosicrucian
The Rosicrucian order (AKA The Order of the Rosy Cross) is rooted in mysterious western mythology. It is very secretive in nature. The rosicrucian cross, consisting of a cross and rose(s), is a mysterious and popular occult symbol.
The order is said to have been started in 1407 by Christian Rosenkreuz, who was a master of occult arts. This order gained popularity and spread during the seventeenth century. There was also a time when many steps were taken to combine the order with alchemy.
Some believe the order started among a group of Protestants in the early 17th century. It is said that the eighteenth century saw this order vanishing from all continents and in the next century it was mysteriously revived. Rosicrucians are basically occult learners and have high knowledge of the art, but they are secretive and rarely expose their knowledge to anyone outside the order. Many societies have been started in Europe and America by Rosicrucians. Some of them are directly related to the Theosophical Society.
The Rosicrucian order has its own objectives which involve learning and exploring more about occult science and trying to understand the metaphysical nature of the world. They search for spiritual truth and try to develop theories for modern needs. Some of the societies have a strong interest in astrology.
The Rosicrucian order is supposed to be very complex and hard to understand if you are not one of its members.
