UFO Sighting: Roswell (1947)

The "Roswell Incident" is perhaps the most famous UFO event of all time.

On the 8th July 1947, Roswell Army Air Field announced that personnel had recovered the wreckage of a "flying disc" from a local ranch. Almost immediately, the Commanding General of the Eighth Air Force announced that the wreckage was in fact a weather balloon. The US Military has maintained this claim ever since.

Many ufologists dispute the official explanation, claiming that an alien craft had crash-landed and extraterrestrial beings were found either dead or seriously injured.
