Who Are Paranormal Notables?

The people behind the paranormal. Let’s face it. Without people there would be no paranormal. As close to human as he is or isn’t, Bigfoot probably isn’t looking for ghosts, UFOs, or trying to bend a branch with his mind.

People from nearly every walk of life are notable in paranormal history.

Paranormal notables, like J.B. Rhine, are noted for their continuing work in one or more fields of the paranormal.
Some famous people are quite unexpectedly connected with the paranormal, such as Thomas Edison who tried to invent a machine to contact the dead.
Often, everyday people gain fame through their association with the paranormal. These paranormal notables include people like Barney and Betty Hill who claimed to be abducted by aliens, Betty Eadie and Danion Brinkley, survivors of near death experiences who returned to life with new beliefs in life after death.
Of course, for some paranormal notables fame comes from notoriety. For instance, the Fox sisters bamboozled the public for decades with tales of their ghostly contacts until finally they were exposed and admitted to perpetrating the hoax of a lifetime.
Which brings us to the final category of paranormal notables—the skeptics and debunkers. Some skeptics, such as illusionist Harry Houdini and magician James Randi, are peculiarly bound to the paranormal through association. Others, such as writer Joe Nickell make a career of debunking paranormal hoaxes.
